Description

"Na Makasi" is a gripping tale of power, betrayal, and self-discovery, following Anaya, a young Black woman of African and Japanese descent, who uncovers extraordinary abilities after her life is shattered by a devastating betrayal. What begins as mind-reading quickly evolves into telekinesis and an ability to freeze time, revealing a hidden legacy tied to her ancestry.

As she's drawn into a shadowy world of supernatural forces and hunted by mysterious enemies, Anaya discovers that her powers are both a gift and a dangerous burden. Guided by the enigmatic Shadow, she must navigate cryptic family secrets, rescue her sister from a sinister organization, and uncover the truth about her place in a centuries-old conflict.

Rich with intrigue and action, "Na Makasi" explores the weight of inherited power, the bonds of family, and the strength it takes to rise above fear when the world threatens to break you.

Author Bio

Ashley was born into a Caribbean family, raised in Brooklyn, New York. Being born into an immigrant family, also meant being able to witness the strength and the resilience in her mother & grandmother as they maneuvered their way through America. Their impact on her life was so profound, that today so many of her stories are devoted to the humor found in being a young black American woman while simultaneously growing up with immigrant parents in America.

She always found ways to find both humor and art in situations that were otherwise difficult to adjust to. She devoted a large number of her social media, "story time," videos to her Trinidadian family.
Now, in California, where she met her husband, Blake, she has built a career as a registered nurse, practicing in underserved areas, educating families on preventative healthcare.

Amidst her nursing career, where there is often sadness and defeat, her and her husband escaped reality by diving into the one thing they love most, art, and music. From that shared passion, a comic book was born. "Na Makasi," A humorous, and action packed superhero story written uniquely to represent the world she grew up in, is the beginning of a suspenseful, emotional and riveting series.
