Author Bio

Jules Gabriel Verne (1828 - 1905) was a French writer who pioneered the science fiction genre. Notable amongst his works are "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Around the World in 80 Days" and "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth". Henry Carl Keifer was a prolific illustrator whose earliest published work appears to have been an adaptation of Thomas Bailey Aldrich's Story of a Bad Boy in 1928 and he illustrated more than sixty different comic series between 1935 and 1955. He was best known for Wambi the Jungle Boy by Fiction House - 1940-1948. He became involved with Classics Illustrated in the early 1940s and his work is both distinctive and stimulating. There are many examples of his work throughout the CI series.
