Description

Reid Psaltis is very much a rising star in comics and illustration both. His extensive art and science education has given him an extraordinary technical ability as an illustrator that immediately sets his work apart from the average cartoonist. Luckily for him, he has an irreverent sense of humor that sets him apart from the average science major.

Reid's work as an illustrator has been featured online at the Rumpus, and in print in Science Notes, Scout Books' Good Ink series, and in Dan Bernes novel the Gods of Second Chances (Forest Avenue Press). His comics have appeared online and in eBooks from Top Shelf 2.0, Study Group Comics, Trip City and Alternative Comics. The Order of Things is Psaltis' first book in print, but rest assured, he has fans waiting for him.

Reid Psaltis will be touring North America in support of the Order of Things. This is a book equally at home in a museum gift shop, a gallery or a comic shop. Pslatis will have his audience laughing as they learn.

Reviews

"A field guide to spotting and identifying mystery fauna, this fancifully illustrated work illuminates a menagerie of creatures, from the possibly extinct Ivory-Billed Woodpecker to the impossibly ubiquitous Jackalope." -- National Geographic

"Psaltis mixing things up keeps the reader off-balance in that regard, as one never knows what's coming next. The commentary gets stranger and funnier as the book goes on, like the remarkable drawing of the Great Horned Owl where its bones are arranged to form the shape of the animal, with only its piercing eyes appearing as per normal. The only comment is "Nightmare fuel for all species of rodents." -- High-Low
