Author Bio

Scott Lobdell wrote both Uncanny X-Men and X-Men during the 1990s. He also launched Generation X and Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix, and penned Alpha Flight and Fantastic Four. Elsewhere, he wrote Dark Horse's Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Fabian Nicieza, Wildstorm's Gen13, Top Cow's Darkness, and IDW's Ghostbusters- Displaced Aggression and Galaxy Quest. Lobdell scripted Stan Lee's animated film Mosaic and has performed as a stand-up comedian. Since his start on the New Universe's Psi-Force and backup stories in Classic X-Men, Fabian Nicieza has written most of Marvel's major super-teams - including Alpha Flight, the Avengers, the New Warriors, the Thunderbolts and the X-Men. Together with artist Rob Liefeld, Nicieza transformed New Mutants into the blockbuster X-Force. The writer also tackled solo heroes ranging from Cable and Deadpool (later combined in Cable & Deadpool) to Gambit and Nomad. He edited Marvel's Star imprint, contributed to multititle X-events like "X-Cutioner's Song" and "Phalanx Covenant," and wrote various "pre-modern" limited series such as Adventures of Captain America and Citizen V and the V-Battalion. Elsewhere, he has written both JLA and Justice League Adventures, The 99, Turok, X-Files, and others. After early assignments on Kickers Inc. and Cloak and Dagger, Terry Kavanagh wrote Web of Spider-Man for years - spinning a hero he introduced in those pages, Nightwatch, into his own title. In addition to runs on Marc Spector- Moon Knight, X-Man and various mutant titles, he wrote Avengers, Iron Man and several tie-in one-shots during the controversial "Crossing" storyline. His miniseries work includes Before the Fantastic Four- The Storms, Fury/Agent 13, Black Cat and Rise of Apocalypse. He teamed Marvel heroes with UItraverse heroes in Exiles vs. X-Men and Ultraforce/Avengers Prelude. Canadian artist Tom Grummett made his name with acclaimed runs on DC titles such as New Titans, Adventures of Superman, Superboy and Power Company. In 2004, Grummett moved to Marvel and became the go-to artist for the Thunderbolts franchise, penciling New Thunderbolts (relaunched as Thunderbolts) and two spin-off miniseries. Grummett subsequently teamed with writer Chris Claremont on New Exiles, X-Men Forever and X-Men Forever II. He has also illustrated Chaos War- Dead Avengers, Incredible Hulks and Avengers Academy. One of comics' premier artists, Bryan Hitch found fame with his dynamic, detailed artwork on The Authority and JLA. His other credits include Marvel's Sensational She-Hulk and X-Men; Marvel UK's Action Force, Doctor Who, Mys-Tech Wars and Death's Head; DC's Superman; and Image's Stormwatch. Hitch's collaboration with writer Mark Millar on The Ultimates, Ultimates 2 and Fantastic Four established him as a comics mega-star. He continued to burnish his reputation on books including Captain America- Reborn, Age of Ultron and Venom. Hitch has provided character designs for the Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Avengers 2 animated films, and the video game Incredible Hulk- Ultimate Destruction. After his scintillating debut on Uncanny X-Men while barely out of his teens, Joe Madureira immediately joined the ranks of fan-favorite artists like Jim Lee and Marc Silvestri. His innovative character designs and explosive layouts attracted a huge following during the '90s, and his popularity reached a fever pitch after his work on "Age of Apocalypse" and "Onslaught" helped transform the Marvel Universe. After developing the creator-owned Battle Chasers for Wildstorm, he left comics for the video-game industry. He made a triumphant return to Marvel with writer Jeph Loeb's Ultimates 3, later launching Avenging Spider-Man with Zeb Wells and joining Charles Soule on Inhuman.
