Description

War correspondent Hetta Sawyer is looking into the disproportional loss of black GIs in the Vietnam War, where an unknowable evil awaits her in the jungle... War correspondent Hetta Sawyer is looking into the disproportional loss of black GIs in the Vietnam War, where an unknowable evil awaits her in the jungle... Leads say losses are especially high at Firebase Tartarus, with most of them simply gone missing, their fate unknown. Something sinister is happening at Tartarus, and the deeper Hetta digs, the more she finds herself spiraling into madness. Written by Christofer Emg rd and featuring art by Tomas Aira, the team that created The Whispering Dark and The Secret Land. Collects Beyond the Pale #1-#4.

Author Bio

Christofer Emg rd lives in Stockholm, Sweden where he spends his working hours writing video games (Mirror's Edge- Catalyst and The Ascent, among others) and comic books (The Whispering Dark and The Secret Land, and more). He has a penchant for horror and the supernatural - possibly explained by the long, dark winters of the far north (which could also be the cause of his transparent complexion and Vitamin D deficiency). At home he juggles his time between raising two wild'uns, re-reading everything Tolkien and daydreaming about surf trips he'll never take. Tomas Aira is a comic book author from Buenos Aires who has worked for Avatar Press (War Stories, Night of the Living Dead), Dark Horse (The Whispering Dark, The Secret Land), and Tokyopop (Starcraft) among others. He's an avid reader and has a passion for TTRPGs and computer games.
