This second volume collects together what are probably the most emblematic Blake & Mortimer titles: the two-parter Mystery of the Great Pyramid, and above all the incredible Yellow M, an instant classic that propelled its author into the ranks of bande dessinee greats. Graphic quality, narrative rigour, constant dramatic tension, and that touch of the unreal that are the trademark of the series - it's all there. Along with, of course, 40 pages of extra material on the creation of such seminal stories!
Created byEdgar Pierre Jacobs after WWII, Professor Philip Mortimer, nuclear physicist, and Captain Francis Blake, dashing head of MI5, are legendary heroes of the 9th art. His first comic, The U Ray (translated by Cinebook) was noticed by Herg, and Jacobs became his first assistant, helping to illustrate Tintin in the Congo, Tintin in America, The Blue Lotus, King Ottokar's Sceptre, The Seven Crystal Balls, and Prisoners of the Sun, before being given free rein to work on his own series.
