Macanudo #3 is the newest volume of Liniers's daily comic strip, and the drawing and vision are more gorgeous than ever. Like volumes #1 and #2, this new collection is marked by existential wit, a playful sensibility, and a probing mind. Dive in for more Henrietta and her cat Fellini; more Mandlebaum, the teddy bear; more sensitive robot, and much else besides!
Born in Buenos Aires in 1973, Liniers is a popular and celebrated Argentine cartoonist whose Macanudo strip has appeared in Argentina's largest newspaper, La Nacion, over the past ten years. He has also published over twenty books containing more than thirty-six hundred cartoons for readers of all ages.
"With a focus on both meta-humour and existential musings, the frequently surreal strip recalls Calvin and Hobbes as well as George Herriman's Krazy Kat [...]. With simple lines, joyous colors, and inspired, loose layouts, Liniers effortlessly spins his strips through a range of emotions, with the resulting enjoyment as much from the beautiful art as the sly humor. And fortunately, Macanudo is genuinely suitable for all ages with no trace of patronizing younger readers." Publishers Weekly "Over the last few years, Liniers, a big name in cartooning in Latin America, has been attracting fans in the United States -- a rarity for a foreign cartoonist." Jonathan Wolfe, The New York Times
