Jean Van Hammewas born in 1939 in Belgium. His major breakthrough came in 1977, when he created the Viking heroThorgal for Grzegorz Rosinski. The mix of medieval legends and heroic fantasy soon became a huge success, with major awards following. He is also the creator of the bestselling series Largo Winchand XIII(published in English by Cinebook). Belgian artist Christophe Simonwas trained in both comic arts and the academic classicism of antiquity. Unsurprisingly, this led himto work on long-running Ancient Rome series Alix, among others, before meeting Jean Van Hamme on a homage episode of Corentin.
