Reviews

This sword and sorcery tale has lightning fast pacing, and is gorgeously illustrated. Manga Maniac Caf
The flow of the art is easy for Western eyes to follow. Add that to the very familiar epic fantasy plot, and this is a fine series for a lot of American readers (fans of Forgotten Realms novels, for example) to dip into the manga world. ComicMix
The book is all black-and-white pen-and-ink work, and it's fantastic. I was very taken with it; very impressed by it. SFSCOPE
Kazuaki Yanagisawas muscular character designs, richly detailed backgrounds, and expertly executed fight scenes breathe life into Kurimotos story. PopcultureShock
"The Seven Magi, is an example of fantasy at its best. This title is a must for fantasy and/or action/adventure fans." Comics Village

Author Bio

Comic artist Kazuaki Yanagisawa is renowned for his fine pen touch and excellence at adapting sophisticated source material. Other works by Yanagisawa include Paparazzi (story by Lone Wolf and Cub's Kazuo Koike), a Megami Tensei comic based on the hit video game cycle, and The Summer of Ocelot, adapted from the novel by former Golgo 13 storywriter Yoichi Funado. The Guin Saga is the lifework of multi-talented Kaoru Kurimoto, who has written musicals based on her creation in addition to the bestselling novels. The Seven Magi first appeared in novel form in 1979 to great acclaim. The five-book opening episode of the saga proper is also being published by Vertical.
