A chance meeting on a train to Tokyo sends two girls named Nana on a collision course with destiny!
After a string of epic romantic failures, Nana Komatsu is ready to take control of her life and get a clean start in the big city. After prioritizing her musical ambitions over love, Nana Osaki is ready to stomp her way to the top of Tokyos punk scene. With determination in their hearts and dreams in their eyes, the two Nanas are ready to take the world by storm!
This is the story of two 20-year-old women who share the same name. Even though they come from completely different backgrounds, they somehow meet and become best friends. The world of Nana is a world exploding with sex, music, fashion, gossip and all-night parties.
Anxious to get into a Tokyo groove, both women are on the prowl for a funky and cheap place to live. But inexpensive apartments in Japans capital city are hard to find. Thank goodness each Nana has a clique of cool friends willing to help out. Too bad these friends are a little eccentric!
Ai Yazawa is the creator of many popular manga titles, including Nana, one of the best-selling shojo titles of all time. Nana won the Shogakukan Manga Award in the shojo category in 2003, and a live-action movie adaptation was released in 2006.
American readers were introduced to Yazawas stylish and sexy storytelling in 2002 when her title Paradise Kiss was translated into English. Some of her other works include Tenshi Nanka Janai (Im No Angel), Neighborhood Story, and Last Quarter, which had a live-action movie adaptation that released in 2004.
