Story drawn form the memoirs of Marguerite de Valois, 'Queen Margot', the first wife of Henri IV, King of France. 1569: the war between Protestants and Catholics is tearing France apart. Margot's hand is the object of negotiations, intended to strengthen the throne of her brother Charles IX, king of France. But Margot is 16 years old and she has lost her heart to the Duke of Guise. Torn between her duty and her illicit love, the princess finds herself at the heart of an intrigue that is beyond her.
The Age of Innocence is co-authored by Olivier Cadic, passionately fond of History, and a Graphic Novel fanatic, Francois Gheysens. It is illustrated by Juliette Derenne, a young artist who started in the Graphic Novel market in 2001, and who has already taken part in the creation of the 'La compagnie des Glaces' series, published by Dargaud, and has illustrated the comic book 'les oublies' published by Bamboo in 2005.
