Taken in by Mr Earnshaw from a young age, Heathcliff is loved by his adoptive sister, Cathy, but despised and mistreated by his adoptive brother, Hindley and his friend Edgar Linton. After Mr Earnshaw's death, Hindley reduces Heathcliff to a mere servant and continues to humiliate him, despite his growing affections toward Cathy. Before long Heathcliff decides to leave, and begins to plan his revenge on the families that have hurt him...Classics Illustrated tells this wonderful tale in colourful comic strip form, offering an excellent introduction for younger readers. This edition also includes a poem by Emily Bronte, theme discussions, a biography of Emily Bronte and study questions, which can be used both in the classroom and at home to further engage the reader in the story.
