Description

A step-by-step guide to resetting your relationship with food, renourishing your body and brain, and finding mental freedom from eating disorders. With a wealth of clinical and lived experience, psychiatrist Dr Warren Ward and nutritionist/coach Lexi Crouch have dedicated their professional lives to helping people heal from eating disorders. They believe eating disorders are caused by inadequate brain nutrition, which can tip some people into a preoccupation with food, weight and numbers, leading to inflexible thinking, which in turn keeps them in a perpetual state of malnourishment and restriction. In this compassionate, science-based guide, featuring patient stories, reflection activities and the latest research, Warren and Lexi take us through their three proven steps to recovery. In Resetting Your Brain, they describe the effects of starvation on this key organ and explain why nourishing it is a vital first step to wellness. Re-friending Your Body outlines a nutrition plan to provide the necessary energy and essential nutrients to repair your physical being. Finally, Re-nourishing Your Soul is a call to reclaim the joy in your life and restore a loving connection with yourself and others.
