Reviews

Praise for The Asheville Bee Charmer Cookbook:

An inspiration. The Asheville Bee Charmer Cookbook takes the work of Mother Nature and exposes how great ingredients are the only route to great food. Cooks of every level will leave the sugar in their cupboards and reach for their new favorite local varietal instead. Chris Pandel, chef/partner, Balena and Swift & Sons

One of the best cookbooks I have seen in many years. Each recipe brings to mind bees buzzing from flower to flower, hard at work for all of us. I will refer to this lovely cookbook for a long time to come. Pierre Pollin, former chef/proprietor, Le Titi de Paris, and 2017 inductee, Chicago Culinary Hall of Fame

A lovely testimonial to the significance of the honeybee. With these delicious, approachable recipes, being good stewards of the land has never tasted so sweet. Laurell Sims, urban farmer, beekeeper, and Slow Food Chicago board member

As a craft cidery in Bee/Beer City, USA, we are extremely fortunate to have such a pure source of honey from our local Bee Charmers to enhance our cider. This book helps readers source and use that same great honey in their own homes. Jeff Anderson, the award-winning Urban Orchard Cider Co.

A beautiful tribute to one of our most overlooked and underappreciated ingredients. From breakfast pastries to exotic marinades to unexpected desserts, Carrie Schloss explores the many sides of honey. Ashlee Aubin, chef/partner, Salero

The Asheville Bee Charmer Cookbook is just what its title, and the store from which it draws its inspiration, suggestsa charm. Its wonderful to have an entire cookbook that incorporates honey in every dish. Michel Coatrieux, associate dean, Kendall College

The Queen Bees inspired us to showcase the nuance of artisanal honey in our craft beer. Now Carrie Schloss, also inspired by whats available at Asheville Bee Charmer, has produced an entire book of delicious recipes that celebrates these wonderful honeys. We raise a honey-infused glass of beer to them!Billy L. Pyatt, owner, Catawba Brewing Co.

A truly original cookbook with inventive and delicious recipes that will expand any cooks repertoire. An added bonus for the modern cook is the table that shows which recipes are dairy free, gluten free, and vegetarian. The variety of the honey-based recipes is beautifully matched to the range of honey blends and varietals available at the shop itself. Peggy Ryan, chef/instructor, Kendall College
