Description

Some days you will want information - facts, clear concise and accurate. You may have forgotten to ask your doctor something. You may have left the surgery more confused than when you went in. You will want answers. On other days you might need emotional support. Every now and again you'll need reassurance that, although you feel like you're going crazy, your experience is completely normal and, like others before, you'll get through it. Illustrated with drawings and photos, this book should help you to make informed decisions about infertility. The book is based on the assumption that the more you know about infertility and its treatment, the more able you will be to manage your treatment successfully. One of the common experiences of undergoing IVF is a sense of powerlessness, a feeling that your life has been overtaken. Being well informed is essential to taking back some of that control.

Author Bio

After four years and ten cycles, Jacqueline Tomlins has learned a lot about IVF - not just the nitty-gritty of hormones and sperm, but the way to take control of it rather than letting it take control of you. Tomlins has worked as a teacher, researcher, trainer and advocate and is now a full-time writer. Her travel book A Girl s Own Adventure has recently been published and she has also written various articles on IVF for The Age and other publications.
