Author Bio

Erica Smith is an award-winning, internationally recognized sexuality educator. For the majority of her career of over twenty years, she provided comprehensive sex education, HIV prevention services, and support to young women and LGBTQ+ youth detained in Philadelphias juvenile justice system. She has also worked with transgender youth and their families since 2002 and provided abortion care as a counselor and educator. In 2019, Erica developed the Purity Culture Dropout Program to help people learn all the sex education that they missed growing up in purity culture. She is frequently sought out as an expert by major media platforms such as Bustle, Parents, The Daily Beast, Mens Health, HuffPost, MTV, and Vice.
