Being single and childfree isnt a consolation prize its a choice, a joy, and a life worth celebrating.
Unmarried, childfree women are statistically the happiest demographic in society. So why does being single still come with such stigma With 1 in 5 adults choosing to be childfree, Lucy Meggeson believes its time to level the playing field and ask the very important question: what the hell is going on
Part investigation, part celebration, Shiny Happy Singles explores what it means to thrive as a single, childfree women in a world that insists happiness only comes in pairs. Being single and not having children, is simply different. It lends itself to different highs and different lows, different joys and different sorrows.
Through conversations with women and broader societal research, Lucy dives into key aspects of single and childfree life. She explores what its like to live and travel alone, how to manage careers and money, where sex fits in, and the ups and downs of solitude.
Shiny Happy Singles invites women everywhere to embrace their independence, let go of shame and live fabulously. You are not alone and you already have everything you need to shine.
Thank you to Lucy for giving the modern single woman the space to be heard for who she really is, and not who society and the press think she is or should be. * Jody Day, psychotherapist and author of Living the Life Unexpected *
