This book is ideal for children ages 3 - 7. It teaches the important lesson to be true to who you are, and your people will find you. You never know who's life you're affecting so stay positive and let your joy radiate around you! Xan is a possum unlike any other. She loves to sing loudly and isn't nocturnal. She is a joyous little creature and doesn't hurt anyone (possums are actually very peaceful animals!). However, one day she gets into terrible trouble and must accept a new friendship to save the day! This new friend changes her life! A good friend is always right around the corner, even if you feel lonely, so keep your heart open. Listening to your family may be wise if they are advising against danger, but sometimes you have to look beyond even your family to find the people who appreciate you for who you are.
Blaize lives in North Hills, CA with their daughter and ever-growingfarmily including 2 dogs, cat, fish, and chickens. This story is loosely inspired by events that occurred between a wild mama possum, the family dog Luna, and bunny, Rozzi, during Spring of 2020. Blaize has a passion for storytelling in many forms and wants to fill the world with the books, films and songs they wish they had as a child. I learn so much from watching animals, both in my home and in nature. It's where I find the most inspiration. They remind me of simple truths every day.
