Description

While Eastern medicines and thought are increasingly in mainstream popularity, few people before John R. Cross have thought to join two separate philosophies into one practice. "Acupuncture and the Chakra Energy System" does just that. By comparing the traditional approaches of Chinese medicine and modern Western acupuncture with the chakra energy system of the Ayurvedic philosophy, Cross seeks to address the cause of the condition, not just the symptoms. The book describes the seven major chakras and twenty-one minor chakras in detail and explains how each one is related to the aura, meridians, endocrine glands and autonomic nervous system.Focusing on the initiation of any acupuncturist who wants to learn how to use the chakras in the treatment of chronic physical and emotional conditions - osteoarthritis-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain with sciatica, insomnia, hypertension, depression, menopausal symptoms, and frozen shoulder, among others - Cross' in-depth explanations make his techniques easy for anyone to follow. Including appendices on how to use the chakras with copper and zinc needles, biomagnets, and what patients to use these approaches for, "Acupuncture and the Chakra Energy System" is a well-rounded guide for any practitioner.
