Another plus of this book is that it is respectful of modern medicine- it acknowledges that these remedies should be used in conjunction with your doctors advice, providing thoughtful commentary on any questions allowing the reader to make their own decision. Phenomenal! If I have to describe it in just one word, that would be it. This book is jam packed with tons and I mean tons of not only informational and interesting/important facts about herbs, spices and food in general, but it also includes ways to use them and DIY recipes to make at home. This book has been my bible lately. Learning how herbs, spices, and foods (good foods) are so good for our bodies. I knew the basics but this book really spelled it all out for me to understand and provided me some awesome recipes to start incorporating them into my life effortlessly and deliciously Dear Patchouli.

DR. TIERAONA LOW DOG is an internationally recognized expert in integrative medicine, dietary supplements, and women's health. For many years she worked with Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona's Center for Integrative Medicine. A leader in national health policy and regulatory issues, she has been elected chair for numerous supplements and botanicals panels for the U.S. Pharmacopeia. Among her many honors, she received the Clinician of the Year Award from the Natural Products Association in 2015. She is a frequent guest on The Dr. Oz Show and The People's Pharmacy NPR radio show.
