"When Shoes Drop" is an inspirational memoir from a 20-year Air Force Veteran. Eric Laurhammer knows that battles will always be fought. At certain times in life, personal battles demand we muster our strength and fight demons of all sorts. So, in 2012, when a small sore developed on his left shin he fought the battle. Seven years later he had lost all of his toes and his left leg. But he is here to tell the story.
The eight year battle was never easy, but Eric used it to learn everything he could. From conflict to health, we all fight battles. We might be exhausted. We might be disheartened. But we can always find ways to rise up.
The proud father of two, Eric Laurhammer is sixty years old and resides in El Paso, Texas. He is retired and spends his time volunteering for the American Red Cross. His career spanned 20 years in the Air Force, after which he worked as a federally-contracted investigator for five years. During his military career, Eric traveled to 36 countries documenting and editing programs on US and multi-national military operations. His highest level of education includes a master's degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University, and another in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution from Baker University. He's survived five amputations of all his toes and left leg. Last year he received a kidney from his dear niece Mindy, another proud member of the Air Force.
