About the Author
Dr. Gift Gugu Mona, South African born poet, philosopher and songwriter. She believes that philosophy is a significant way of sharing life lessons. She understands that words carry so much power, sufficient to transform lives.
Dr Mona is passionate about transformation of lives. Dr. Mona began writing poetry at the age of twelve, and today she has written numerous poems and quotes. Her work has been cited at various platforms including journals, books, pulpits, bulletins, conferences and social media pages across the globe. She is a celebrated writer of more than twelve books. Kimberly Baister-Suwek is an exceptional photographer, artist and model. She was born and raised in Utica, NY. Kim possesses boundless energy and enthusiasm. Her passion for art, photography, architectural design as well as her affinity for our beautiful world, were the inspirations for this labor of love.
Kim's physical beauty is apparent. In 1978, she proudly reigned as the first Miss Greater Utica. She also held titles of Miss Utica Blue Jay, Miss New York State Teenage Pageant Finalist, and Miss Empire State Pageant's Most Promising Model. Kim continues to work in print media and commercial advertising. Her beauty also radiates from within, evidenced in the life she has built. Kim is the proud mother of three successful children, Megan, Meredith and Ryan. She continues to reside in the Utica area, and whenever possible, she is an avid supporter of the community. She has tirelessly donated her time to View Arts Center, Utica Children's Museum, Legal Line, American Heart Association, Utica Boilermaker Roadrace, Mohawk Valley Ballet, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Through the pursuit of her dreams, Kim's photography has been featured in both local and national publications, highlighting her talent while promoting the area she loves. Kim has authored a photo book entitled Utica Show-em What We Got!
