Description

When you look in the mirror, what do you see Yourself as you truly are Or a mask that you identify as yourself On From Fixation to Freedom, you will learn how an ancient tool for self-inquiry can help you uncover the truth of your own being, and see that the possibilities for your life are limited only by your misidentification.A Return to the Enneagram's Original TraditionWith roots in antiquity, the Enneagram is one of the world's most enduring systems for understanding the human mind. Today it is popular among career counselors, religious study groups, therapists, and even parents of teenagers. They use it as an uncanny guide to nine character fixations that distinguish all humans from one another and relate them to the central passions in the world's sacred texts. On From Fixation to Freedom, Eli Jaxon-Bear returns us to the Enneagram's original tradition, first revealed in modern times by the mystic Gurdjieff after visiting the mystery schools in the Pamir Mountains of Central Asia. The Inner Truth of Who You AreEveryone says that they want to be happy, Jaxon-Bear begins. So why is there so much suffering The answer lies with our false identifications, and the fixations that define and limit them. The Enneagram can serve as a wisdom mirror, Jaxon-Bear teaches, that can help you look deeply into yourself, and wake up to your true nature. In 12 entertaining lectures, and with the help of men and women sharing examples from their own lives, Jaxon-Bear guides you through the nine points of the Enneagram, examining the fixations that are unique to each one of them, and demonstrating how they move, interact, and relate to each other. With useful insights from other wisdom traditions, including Zen and Advaita, here is a unique way to self-understanding, revealed through this timeless system for knowing the inner truth of who you are, independent of exterior conditioning. The Nine Points as a Path to FreedomThere are many works on the Enneagram that explain how to take advantage of your type's strengths, work around weaknesses, assess the types of others, and get along with them by seeing through their eyes. Now, with Eli Jaxon-Bear's From Fixation to Freedom, the original purpose of this once-secret spiritual system is fully illuminated: to move beyond fixation to freedom, and realize peace and self-liberation in this lifetime.
