This is a book of daily readings based on the developing relationship between a sponsor and a person in Twelve-Step recovery during the course of a year. For each day of recovery, a question or concern raised by a newcomer is followed by a sponsor's response. These down-to-earth exchanges are meant to suggest the daily give-and-take of conversations between two recovering people.
Joan Larkin is the author of three collections of poetry (Housework, A Long Second, Cold River) and a prize-winning play (The Living). She has edited several anthologies and co-translated Sor Juana's Love Poems. A teacher for many years, she has served on the faculties of Goddard, Brooklyn, and Sarah Lawrence colleges.
