How you choose to nurture yourself is a personal choice. Some of us routinely pray, meditate, exercise, listen to music or do a number of activities to nurture ourselves. While spending 10-20 minutes with your eyes closed and your brain paused may seem unproductive, this state of quietness allows you to stay calm and focused so you can be very productive. Having a routine for nurturing your mind and spirit each day lets you feed energy to your soul and can serve you well if your life suddenly takes an unexpected turn into a difficult period. This kind of daily practice grounds your spirit and your body so that you stay rooted in yourself. This book is a personal commitment to challenging yourself, finding your center, staying grounded, and connecting with the things that bring you peace and hope.
Throughout my life, I have felt like a square trying to fit into a triangle. With recent life changes, I have been using the art of meditation and affirmations to ease my spirit. And while I would never consider myself someone that has mastered any skills of silence, stillness, or being deeply reflective I have found a root deep within the soil of my soul that feels real, calm, and constantly seeking peaceful moments when they reveal themselves. I find myself so fortunate to be able to give myself at least 10-20 minutes in the morning and 20-50 minutes before I go to sleep to practice meditation using meditation apps I have found online. This guidance has become not only a part of my bedtime routine but I find that I sleep more soundly throughout the night if I give myself this quiet time. During my day, I pray, journal, speak affirmations, and research on making a better version of myself. I know that I am a work in progress and will forever be.
As you take this journey for yourself, I hope you will experience your "aha" moments. It is my hope and intention that as you embark on this exploration, you will begin to find your own answers -- that you will become self-reflective, make conscious decisions, and learn to trust your intuition.
I hope you can trust the next chapter of your life with this book because you are the author
