Author Bio

Jeanne Achterberg, PhD(19422012), was a professor of psychology at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) and served as associate professor and director of research in rehabilitation science at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.

Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, HWNC-BC, is an internationally recognized integrative, holistic nursing pioneer, a nurse theorist, and a Florence Nightingale Scholar. She is the co-director of the International Nurse Coach Association and director of Holistic Nursing Consultants in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has authored or co-authored twenty-five books, including Holistic Nursing: A Handbook for Practice, Nurse Coaching: Integrative Approaches for Health and Wellbeing, The Art and Science of Nurse Coaching: The Providers Guide for Coaching Scope and Competencies, Florence Nightingale: Mystic, Visionary, Healer, and many more. Dossey is an eleven-time recipient of the prestigious American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award.
