M.K. Sholund owes her passion for books and writing to working at Borders Books, Music, and Cafe and being a freelance writer after attending Towson State University. Having had articles published in trade magazines, she has since switched to writing horror and short fiction which several of her flash stories have been short listed in writing contests. Her debut non-fiction book, 150+ Prompts: A Creative Writer's Journal with BookBaby is was released May 9, 2025. She currently serves as the Carroll Chapter president of the Maryland Writers Association, co-leads a critique group, speaks at writers events, and manages a Substack called Horror on the Page. M.K. lives in Baltimore County, Maryland with her husband and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and loves making lollipops.
