Description

A light-hearted but effective guide to overcoming the plague of bad managers and toxic companies, by one of the UK's biggest and fastest-growing careers content creator. Ben Askins sees the same stories repeatedly. He receives direct messages from his followers across Instagram and TikTok, with detailed descriptions of bosses misbehaving, expecting things that are wildly outside of people's job descriptions and asking for overtime without as much as a consideration for people's personal lives. With over 20,000 messages received so far, and counting, Ben narrows in on the most common bad boss behaviours, explains what is behind them, and coaches readers to come out on top with better outcomes for career and personal progression. From the red and green flags of management, the bad boss who is actually alright on a personal level, the realisation that your 9 to 5 feels more like a 7 to 8, to taking matters in your own hands and managing up, My Boss Is a Moron is a no-nonsense guide to all things toxic workplace and terrible bosses.

Author Bio

Ben Askins is a serial entrepreneur and content creator, who is known for his staunch defense of millennials and Gen Z in the workplace. In a world where the younger generations are under more pressure than ever, Ben wants to support them, help them grow, show them how to challenge toxic workplaces and fight back. A successful entrepreneur, he sold his first business aged 29 for eight-figures and is currently building a leading green energy company in the UK. One of the fastest-growing content creators in the country, he reached 675K followers on TikTok within 1 year of starting it and has surpassed 1 million total followers across platforms. In 2023, his videos were viewed over 150 million times. He has also just launched a YouTube channel, where he runs the Ben Askins show, in which he counsels callers on their career woes.
