Charmisse Owens is the author of Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me before I Started College and was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. She grew up in a single-parent household with her mom and twin sister, Charmaine. In 2004, she moved to Atlanta to attend Clark Atlanta University, becoming a first-generation college graduate in 2008. After attaining her master's degree in 2011 from Augusta State University, Charmisse has been eager to find her fit in education. Merging her PR degree and MAT degree, she hopes to encourage the youth masses with great regard for higher education and success for youth facing adversity.
