Description

How to show up and make a difference in a world that tells you not to care When the world's problems seem overwhelming, as they so often do, it's easy to fall into feelings of helplessness. It becomes too painful to care, so we turn to the latest "how to not give a f*ck" self-help book. Yet caring about our world and each other is a natural instinct all humans have. What is it doing to our minds, bodies, and souls to ignore this part of our humanity In Love without Reason: The Lost Art of Giving a F*ck, LaRayia Gaston helps us connect with our hearts, reawaken our innate desire to make a difference, and then actually make that difference in a way that is both enjoyable and impactful. In other words, she teaches us how to show up and care about each other and our world. Central to Gaston's teachings is the idea that giving doesn't have to be difficult, and you don't have to go out of your way to do it. "Need is all around us," she writes. "You'll never know the ripples one small act of kindness can create." Gaston calls these acts micro-gestures, moments when you stop, look around, and ask yourself how you can contribute in your own way. Throughout the book, Gaston pulls apart the stories we tell ourselves about helping-it's too difficult, we'll just be in the way, it won't change anything-and provides strategies to help us get started. In the end, you'll discover that showing you care isn't about sacrifice-it's about joy.

Reviews

"From the moment I met LaRayia, I knew she had a book in her. You could see it in her eyes and in her life. In a world where it can be easy to become complacent, LaRayia shows us how to find our passion again--not just for ourselves, but for others as well. She clearly shows us the power that unconditional love has to change our hearts and the lives of those around us. The radical love you will learn to tap into in this book is not the vapid 'love' so flippantly used today, but a deep, authentic love. This book is a beautiful manual of how to live from that love above all else. A revolutionary manifesto to Love Without Reason." --Dr. Will Cole, leading functional medicine expert and bestselling author of The Inflammation Spectrum and Ketotarian

"In these fragmenting times, LaRayia Gaston offers inspiring, tangible awakening tools to get engaged, lean into to giving a f*ck, and activate micro-gestures of empowered service. Love Without Reason is an impassioned call to rise together, transform food scarcity, and nourish our soul's call to be part of the circle of exchange." --Shiva Rea, author of Tending the Heart Fire and founder of Global School for Living Yoga

"LaRayia Gaston walks her talk like no other, honey. This woman is 100% LOVE! Reading about her journey will inspire you to celebrate your unique gifts, radiate love, and make a difference in the world." --Sah D'Simone, author of Spiritually Sassy

"Love Without Reason is an empowering yet humbling read that not only reveals why we need to exhibit more love in our life but most importantly how to actually do it. Through personal and relatable stories, LaRayia Gaston makes the complex and daunting concept of doing our part to make the world a better place seem achievable.
"Gaston's honesty in describing her journey of integrating the practice of love into her everyday life illustrates how we must strive for progress rather than perfection when making fundamental personal change.
"Love Without Reason is an invaluable guidebook to expanding the way we understand love and actualizing the universal good that comes from giving it freely." --Ash Beckham, author of Step Up
