She is currently best known for her weekly personal finance newsletter, Your Money Explained, with Sensible Emily, which has 40,000 subscribers and a very active community. The ABC considered it one of their most successful newsletters. Aside from her newsletter, Emily is the Lead Reporter on personal finance and writes several stories a week, and sge also reports about money news and tips on radio and TV. She also created and hosted the first instalment of The Pineapple Project podcast in 2018, where the name Sensible Emily was born. She also has an MBA from Melbourne Business School and Commerce and Arts degrees from the University of Melbourne-putting her ahead of most self-professed finance gurus.
