At a certain age everyone pauses to take stock of their existence up until that moment. And far too often they come away disappointed, feeling that some ambition has gone unfulfilled, or some talent has gone undeveloped and yet it's difficult to change. Many people continue their trajectory, unsure of how to change course.
This unsettling touchstone can be a pivotal moment. It's the time to ask yourself the crucial questions: What if I could change my life What if I could be a better version of myself
The eleven contributors to "MBA at 58" offer up their stories of how they themselves tackled those difficult questions, and how they wound up changing their lives for the better. Inside you'll read stories of unbelievable resiliency and grit, of heartbreaking loss met with steely resolve, of people shaking off defeat to come back stronger, prouder and better.
Are you looking to make a change for the betterbut don't know where to start "MBA at 58" is the perfect jumping-off point. This book is a springboard to a better future, a better life and a better YOU!
No one who knows Doug Keipper would ever characterize him as conventional, and his vocational path certainly bears that out. With a firmly-established career of over three decades in banking and finance -- including fifteen years as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist -- Doug refused to rest on his laurels, deciding instead to pursue his Master of Business Administration degree at the tender age of 54. Despite the enormity of the undertaking, Doug pursued it with the same vigor he'd applied to his financial services career, graduating from Bellevue University at the age of 58 with a 3.47 GPA and an MBA diploma tucked under his arm.
The empowering experience inspired Doug to share not only his story, but the stories of others who had followed a similar path. Culling instructional and galvanizing tales from friends, colleagues, and industry professionals, Doug compiled these comeback stories into his first book, MBA at 58, a motivational collection designed to encourage others in their quest to become the best that they can be.
A native of Huntington and Fort Wayne, Indiana, Doug Keipper currently lives in the sunny south on Lake Oconee, Georgia. He works in risk management for a community bank. He and his wife of 31 years, Nan, have two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca (both University of Georgia graduates and now successful professionals), and a brown mutt rescue dog named Buddy. Doug enjoys tennis, water skiing, volunteering for his church, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and sunset boat rides with friends on Lake Oconee.
