The Conscious Gut is an informative journaling experience that invites the reader to engage in meaningful writing and art-making responses addressing stress related symptoms of sensitive digestive systems, bowel disorders and diseases, and other digestive problems. This is not a medical journal, rather, The Conscious Gut is about making compassionate connections with the gut to promote awareness and acceptance. Taking a whole-body view, the author welcomes the reader to join her in thoughtful explorations that are intended to empower and embolden those who often feel hopeless and helpless in living with digestive problems.
"Marianne Bickett has written a marvelous little handbook for people suffering from digestive disorders. Each creatively illustrated page begins with an affirmation, a nugget of wisdom, followed by specific suggestions for pondering, journaling, or drawing. All of her recommendations offer practical, very doable, steps toward transforming the particular affirmation from just an idea to a lived reality."
-Manuel Costa, MFT, author of The Path to Life's Fullness
