Author Bio

Dr. Jacques MoraMarco has been a licensed acupuncturist since 1977, taking the first acupuncture licensing examination in the state of California. Much of Dr. MoraMarco's clinical career has centered on the treatment of HIV/AIDS patients. From 2014 to 2019, Dr. MoraMarco supervised Emperor's College acupuncture students at Being Alive, a non-profit organization in Los Angeles that provides free wellness services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Born in Switzerland, he has studied throughout Europe, America, and Asia. He apprenticed with See Han Kim, a renowned teacher of traditional Korean medicine. He completed his postgraduate work at Ecole Europeene d'Acupuncture in Paris. From 1992 to 2002, he studied Sun Tai Chi with Sun Shurong in Beijing, China, and he is a fourth-generation lineage holder of Sun Tai Chi.Dr. MoraMarco is also the author of The Way of Walking: Eastern Strategies for Vitality, Longevity and Peace of Mind (co-authored with Rick Benzel) and The Complete Ginseng Handbook. Dr. MoraMarco is the Academic Dean at Emperor's College and is a cofounder of the International Sun Tai Chi Association.

Dr. Yun Kim is the President of Emperor's College, one of the oldest and most distinguished schools of traditional East Asian medicine in the United States. Dr. Kim has served on the executive committee of the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, an association of accredited and pre-accredited acupuncture schools in the US; has served as chair of the Faculty Development Committee of the Council; and serves as a site visitor for the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. Additionally, she served for ten years on the board of directors of Korean American Family Services, a nonprofit organization that provides mental health, domestic violence, and child welfare services. She earned her Doctor of Education at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education, and her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Emperor's College.
