Technology has stealthily seeped into almost every aspect of our lives through smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Over the last decade it has even moved into our love life in the form of Internet dating sites. According to a recent Pew Research Center study, 15% of adults have used online dating sites and/or applications. The fastest growing groups are the youngest adults and those over 50. That same study found that 41% of Americans know someone who uses online dating and 29% know someone who has met a spouse or long-term partner via online dating. The result is that internet dating is here, it is useful and now an accepted way to meet people. It is our intent to bring some sanity or perhaps reality to the process of Internet dating. You have heard the phrase "Been there, done that" Well, as far as Internet dating goes, we have been there and done that. We met on a dating site and we fell in love. Our journey to the love we now share was not without a lot of hard work, disappointment and patience. Our goal is to help you succeed in your internet dating effort. We will ask you to look at yourself and answer some difficult questions. We will provide you with some hints on writing a good profile. We let you know some of the do's and don'ts regarding your pictures and will share with you ideas on how to screen potential dates. We will introduce you to what we call the BBM syndrome and much more.If we accomplish what we set out to do, your journey through the maze of internet dating should be easier and hopefully more successful. In the end, it is all up to you.
