Angola knew warfare from 1961-2002. Over time it evolved from a civil war between local combatants into an international war involving the United States, Soviet Union/Russia, Cuba, South Africa and numerous African nations. However, Angola has moved on from the long period of warfare.

However, concentration was focused upon the period from 2002 until 2025. The Dictionary has extensive coverage of the economy, health, education, growth and development, the arts, including literature, music , theater, and cinema. Author Bio

W. Martin James is an Emeritus Professor at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He has written several books and many articles about Africa. He has met many of the historical people of the nation. Over the last fifteen years, he has made seventeen research trips to southern Africa.
