Author Bio

Stephen Brewer has been writing travel guides for almost three decades. As an editor and writer, he has focused on European coverage for such magazines as Esquire, Connoisseur and Geo. He has written several previous guides for Frommer's and Insight, as well as authoring Beautiful Small Coastal Towns for Rizzoli. Stephen resides in Manhattan.

Jason Cochran was twice awarded Guide Book of the Year by the Lowell Thomas Awards (Society of American Travel Writers) and once by the North American Travel Journalists Association. His voice has reached millions of travelers, starting in the mid-'90s when he wrote one of the world's first travel blogs, to his familiarity as a commentator on CBS and for AOL, to his work today as editor-in-chief of Frommers.com. He lives in Los Angeles.


Deborah Collcutt is a features executive at Reach plc, Over the past few years, she has worked closely with a number of large companies to write a series of digital and print supplements. Previously she worked as a senior lecturer at the School of Journalism at Bournemouth University, teaching the multi-media experts of tomorrow.


Katie Featherstone splits time between Scotland (mostly Islay) and the Icelandic Highlands. The author of Bradt Guide's Inner Hebrides, a seasonal mountain hut warden in Fjallabak (Iceland), and a freelance writer predominantly focusing on hiking, history, and slow, sustainable travel. Other recent work in: the Guardian, Independent, TGO Magazine, Hidden Europe, Walk Highlands, Scottish Islands Explorer, and Coast Magazine.


Samantha Priestley is a travel-focused writer. Her work has been featured in Town and Country magazine, Culture Trip, and other publications. Samantha lives in the U.K., where she was born. She has been writing for TripSavvy since 2020.


Donald Strachan is a writer and journalist who has written about Italy for publications worldwide, including National Geographic Traveler, The Guardian, Sunday Telegraph, and The Independent. He resides in London, England.
