This collection of ten facsimile titles, chosen from our imprints Pinter, Mansell and Continuum, covers a broad variety of themes that confronted Europe throughout the turbulent twentieth century, focusing on European politics abroad as much as on inter-European political changes and challenges. The titles in this set examine the development of Britain from Empire to Commonwealth, paying particular attention to the inter- and post-war years, the emergence of the European Union and the struggles faced by former Soviet states in the 1990s. They also pick up on two of the leitmotifs of the 20th century: the quest for sovereignty and the rise and fall (and rise) of extreme right ideas and politics. All titles are available as set or as individual volumes. Titles include: Britain and the Cold War: 1945 as Geopolitical Transition by Peter J. Taylor Britain and the Threat to Stability in Europe, 1918-45 by Peter Catterall and Kate Utting Crossing Borders: Political Essays by Sir Bernard Crick European Unity in Context: The Interwar Years by Peter M. R. Stirk Failure in Palestine: British and United States Policy after the Second World War by Martin Jones Post-Communist Transition: Emerging Pluralism by Andrs Bozki, Andrs Krsenyi and George Schpflin Reclaiming Sovereignty by Laura Brace and John Hoffman The EC, Eastern Europe and European Unity: Discord, Collaboration and Integration Since 1947 by Peter van Ham The Extreme Right in Europe and the USA by Paul Hainsworth The Politics of the Extreme Right by Paul Hainsworth
