Burton Paulu was professor and director, emeritus, of University Media Resources at the University of Minnesota. He was president of the National Association of Educational Broadcasters, and won various awards that enabled him to study broadcasting in the United Kingdom and in Eastern as well as Western Europe. In the fall of 1980 he served as a Fulbright Hays Scholar, lecturing on British and American broadcasting in the Faculty of Journalism at the Moscow State University. Paulu is the author of British Broadcasting: Radio and Television in the United Kingdom, British Broadcasting in Transition, Radio and Television Broadcasting on the European Continent, and Radio and Television Broadcasting in Eastern Europe, all published by the University of Minnesota Press.
