Werner Levi was professor of political science at the University of Minnesota. He studied in universities in five European countries, including the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, where he received the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence, and the Institute of East Asiatic Studies in Berlin. During the war he was coordinator of the Far Eastern Area and Language Studies under the Army Specialized Training Program. He contributed articles on American-Australian relations to the Pacific Historical Review, the Dalhousie Review, the Fortnightly, and the Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Science.
