Author Bio

Lisa Murray is the City Historian at the City of Sydney Council. With over 15 years experience in public history, Lisa is passionate about making history accessible to the public. She wrote her doctoral thesis on the history of cemeteries in 19thcentury New South Wales and is a current member, and former Chair, of the National Trust (NSW)s Cemeteries Conservation Committee. Lisa is also the award-winning author of Planning Histories and a regular contributor to debates around public history, including speaking at TEDxSydney 2013.
