Over 80 letters and diaries have been sourced for this personal story of the 18th Battalion at Gallipoli. We follow the men from their Australian camp to Egypt and then Gallipoli. During their first week on Gallipoli, the 18th suffered over 600 casualties. An Honour Roll of those killed in this week is included as well as one hundred brief newspaper obituaries from 1915.
With meticulous research, author Maurie Garland reveals the full, untold story of the tragic 18th Battalion.
