Description

In the darkest days of World War II, the British planned a daring airborne operation to capture the secret of the new German radar. Lead by Major John Frost, a company of paratroopers dropped into Bruneval on the French coast, and quickly neutralized a small German garrison. Then began a desperate fight for time as the British tried to dismantle the German radar and evacuate back to England, as ever more German units converged on their position. Using artwork, photographs, and detailed maps, this action-packed narrative puts the reader in the planning room and on the battlefield of one of the greatest raids of World War II.

Reviews

"This is a very nice reference book that is well researched and written and contains many interesting photographs and well detailed captions. This will make a nice addition to anyone's personal library and will also be a benefit to the military enthusiast." --Randy Harvey, Armorama

"This action packed narrative puts you in the middle of everything through the excellent use of artwork, photographs and detail maps. Through color illustrations you are given a bird's-eye view of the drop site and radar installations." --www.mataka.org (November 2010)

"Ford covers the planning, the execution and the raid very well. It is obvious that the author has gone to great lengths to research the planning, execution and details of the raid. Anyone interested in WWII British commando operations will find this book very informative and interesting." --Randy Harvey, Model Shipwrights
