From familiar languages like French and Spanish - A is for Arbol which is the Spanish word for tree... Julio R Lopez Jr., has produced an interesting book in A is for Arbol. It does encourage and aid in the development of language skills, however, and would do well for parents who want their children to have a varied vocabulary and learn more about the world... Author Bio

Julio R. Zorro Lopez Jr., is an American born artist whose works have been exhibited in publications, and institutions throughout the United States and abroad. The artist earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington's School of Art. Additionally, he has earned a Master's of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The son of migrant workers the artist was born in Lamesa, Texas in 1960 and was raised in the fields the Rio Grande Valley, Texas and the orchards of the Yakima Valley in Washington State. As a child the artist would spend countless hours drawing and designing helicopters, airplanes, and buildings. His love for aviation and architecture would later lead him to become both a rotary-wing and fixed wing pilot and architectural illustrator. Each of his illustrations is a landmark in amazing cross-hatch, shading, and a beautiful sense of balance and composition. Upon graduation from the University of Washington in 1985 the artist attended undergraduate pilot training at Fort Rucker, Ala., where he earned his Aviator Wings. He would serve as a military combat search and rescue pilot and instructor for the majority of the next 30 years. During this period he continued to work in a wide verity of mediums that include but are not limited to, graphite, pencil, ink, ceramics, photography, fabrics, oils, acrylics, water colors, metal, glass, charcoal, pastels, etchings, sculpture, and lithography.
