Lucy van Smit, is an award-winning author, a screenwriter, and an artist. She has made documentaries for Canadian TV on writers such as John Le Carr and Ian McEwan. She has a Distinction in MA Creative Writing and her debut YA novel, The Hurting (Chicken House) won the inaugural Bath Childrens Novel Award.
