KENNETH F. KISTER is North America's best-known reviewer of reference and information materials. Other books by him include Kister's Best Dictionaries for Adults and Young People, Kister's Concise Guide to Best Encyclopedias, and Kister's Atlas Buying Guide, all published by Oryx Press and Social Issues and Library Problems. Kister has also written many articles and reviews for such diverse publications as Family Life, Consumers' Research Magazine, Writer's Digest, The Reference Librarian, Choice, Library Journal, and Wilson Library Bulletin. Holder of a master's degree in library science from the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science in Boston, Kister received the school's Alumni Achievement Award in 1990.
