Author Bio

Alice Rose is an editor and writer who has studied and lived in Bahia. She has been practicing capoeira for 14 years and assists her husband and coauthor, Jadson Caador, teach the martial art in Oakland, California. Alice also practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu, loves to cook, and occasionally teaches kids about the wonders of paleontology.

Jadson Caador was born and raised in the land of futebol, and through his passion for his state team, Bahia, he learned how to love the beautiful game of soccer. He currently lives in Berkeley, California, where he dedicates most of his time to the art of capoeira with his wife, Piu Piu.

Nati Vale is an educator and writer with a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature. She has studied and traveled in Brazil and Portugal, and has played capoeira for 14 years. If she is not at school or at capoeira, you can find her in the kitchen, at the ballet studio, or hiding behind a book.
