Reviews

Bloomsburys Tax Rates and Tables 2016/17 is the work of Rebecca Cave who many of you may well know for her work as Consultant Tax Editor for AccountingWeb. When I received a copy of this book I must admit the thought of a book of tax tables left me cold but when I opened it and started having a look firstly it brought home to me just how complex our tax system has become with so many different rates and thresholds and exemptions. Secondly it struck that this was great piece of work to not only bring them all into one place but to actually make them understandable to a generalist like myself. Need information and a rate or an allowance it will be in this book from personal Tax to Student loans, to Share Options, to Company tax and CGT, to Capital Allowances and on and on and on. I couldn't help myself as I tried to find the most obscure item in the book and for me its the 6 Page list of Exempt Guilt Edged Securities. Seriously, this book will get used so often through the year. -- Tony Margaritelli * Accounting Practice Magazine *
