Elana Pearlman is the founder of Nana Marys Bakeshop, and coowner of Pig & The Pastry with her husband. Her experience spans the country, having grown up in Southern California and trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. It was at the Culinary Institute of America that Elana developed the knowledge and techniques required to create the unique flavor profiles that she has now become known for. After having found some of her great grandmothers old recipe cards, she was inspired to develop her own take on babka. She now lives in Bastrop, Texas, just outside of Austin.
