A national award-winning homebrewer, he was the first in Southern California to earn the rank of Level III Grand Master beer judge. Under his direction AleSmith has won many awards at the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup, and many other regional competitions. He is also an avid cheesemaker. He lives in San Diego.
